From day-old to 2 months of age, they will require supplemental heat to stay warm. Once they have developed most of their wing and body feathers, they should be able to tolerate being outside in a coop at night. However, it is recommended to monitor them closely for the first few hours in the dark to ensure they are not distressed.

We currently have three breeds available for sale: Golden Cuckoo Marans, Marans mix, and a Hybrid mix. These breeds are known for their beauty and make excellent hens or roosters. Please see the photos below for a preview.

To ensure the well-being of your chicks, a minimum of three must be purchased. Chickens have a pecking order and having only two can result in constant conflict, while having only one can lead to loneliness and, in many cases, death. However, if you are adding to an existing flock, two chicks will suffice. In the case of a rooster, one will be enough.

If you are concerned about the possibility of a hen turning out to be a rooster, rest assured that you can return it to us for a $5 fee.

We also have roosters available for sale at a discounted price of $10 less than hens. As a chicken-based business, we often have excess roosters and would love to see them placed in good homes.

If you are unsure about the commitment of keeping hens, we offer a fostering program. You will pay for the hens as if purchasing them, but if you decide that you no longer want to keep them, you may return them to us at no charge. If you decide to keep the hens, the fostering arrangement will be void. Please contact us for more information on this option.
